A mango is a tropical fruit with a sweet, soft yellow or orange flesh surrounding a large pit. The thick red, orange and green skin is peeled off and discarded. A single fruit can weigh up to three pounds.

One cup of sliced mango provides approximately 107 calories.

Energy yielding nutrients

Most of the calories are provided by 28 g carbohydrate in the form of fruit sugars. There is 0.8 g protein and 0.5 g fat in one cup of sliced mango.

Vitamins

One cup of sliced mango contains 1262 international units of vitamin A, which is more than 25 of the recommended daily value. More than 75 percent of the daily value of vitamin C is provided with 46 mg in one cup. Mangos are a poor source of B vitamins and vitamin E.

Minerals

One cup of sliced mango provides 257 mg potassium, 16 mg calcium, 18 mg phosphorus, 15 mg magnesium, 0.2 mg iron and 0.07 mg zinc.

There are 3 g of fiber in one cup of sliced mango.
