Cancer is a common condition that affects the reproductive organs of women. Regular screening for cervical cancer is important since you may not experience symptoms in the early stages. As this cancer advances, symptoms can include vaginal bleeding between menstrual cycles or after menopause, bloody vaginal discharge that may have a foul smell or heavy consistency, and pelvic pain. Treatment for this cancer may include hysterectomy, laser surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. Certain herbal remedies may also be helpful in relieving or coping with symptoms of cervical cancer. You should always consult a doctor before taking any herbal supplements. Never replace other forms of treatment with a herbal supplement.

Cat's Claw

Cat's claw, also called Uncaria tomentosa, may be helpful in relieving symptoms of cervical dysplasia. Cervical dysplasia is a condition characterized by the growth of abnormal cells on the cervix. This can lead to cervical cancer. Women who experience this condition and do not receive treatment may be more susceptible to cervical cancer. In addition, many symptoms of cervical dysplasia are similar to those of cervical cancer, including abnormal bleeding and vaginal discharge. The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends that a dose of 20mg, 3 times a day, may help relieve inflammation and boost immune strength. This can help increase your ability to fight infection and illness that can worsen symptoms.

Turmeric

Turmeric, also called Curcuma longa, is an herb that may ease inflammation associated with cervical problems. The University of Maryland Medical Center advises that an effective dosage may be 300mg, 3 times a day. However, this herb may raise the amount of time you bleed. Therefore, if you are consuming blood thinning medications, you should consult your doctor before taking this herb.

Reishi Mushroom

Reishi mushroom, also known as Ganoderma lucidum, may also be effective in helping to relieve and manage the symptoms of cervical dysplasia. The University of Maryland Medical Center advises that a dose of 150 to 300 mg, 2 to 3 times a day, may offer you anti-inflammatory benefits. In addition, it may boost your immune system, increasing your ability to fight illness and infection.

Green Tea

Green tea, or Camelia sinensis, contains antioxidants that may relieve symptoms associated with cervical health conditions, such as cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer. Antioxidants act to protect your body from foreign bacteria and viruses that cause cellular damage, infection, and illness. In addition to these antioxidant benefits, green tea may also strengthen your immune system. Leaves from this herb may also be used to prepare a tea.
