The YMCA offers educational health programs to help support your weight loss goals, personal fitness training, group fitness classes and sports activities for all ages and fitness levels. Programs that promote intellectual and spiritual strength are a primary part of the YMCA's healthy lifestyle philosophy, so you'll receive support for a total healthy lifestyle change and not just a fitness program.
Step 1
Request an appointment with a YMCA healthy lifestyle coach, who will develop a workout routine and healthy lifestyle plan specifically for you.
Step 2
Pick up a current group fitness class schedule. Choose classes that fit into your schedule and are appealing to you and begin taking them. Burn 900 to 1,500 additional calories a week by doing three group fitness classes.
Step 3
Lift weights in the YMCA fitness facility two to three days a week to increase muscle mass and burn more calories naturally.
Step 4
Join one of the YMCA's adult sports leagues to help you lose weight while being connected to others.
