Racing bike games are designed to improve your coordination as well as your ability to turn sharply while on your bike. While professional bike racers often ride over miles of steep terrain, most bike racing games are designed to be fun and easy ways for you and your friends to stay healthy and active.

Traffic Cop Race

This bike game is designed to teach your kids the rules of the road as well as improve their braking abilities while on their bikes. Get a group of kids together and draw a straight line on the street with a piece of chalk. Draw a finish line at the end of the road with chalk. Make sure the street is secure before starting the game. You will be the cop and direct traffic with your whistle. On your whistle, have the kids ride as quickly as they can towards the finish line. Each time you blow your whistle, the kids must stop and wait for the whistle to be blown again. If they fail to stop, they are out of the game. The first kid to cross the finish line wins.

Toe the Line

This beginner bike game is designed to improve your riding precision and accuracy. Grab a few friends and give them each a piece of chalk. Have them draw a straight line from the start to the finish line which you can designate with plastic cones. Once the lines are drawn, hop on your bikes and get to the starting line. On your mark, have everyone ride down their lines towards the finish line. Have an additional friend watch everyone's tires to make sure nobody falls off their lines. The first player across the finish line without deviating from her line wins.

Barrel Racing

This racing bike game will help improve your kids accuracy and turn radius. Grab three cones or plastic bottles and assemble them in the shape of a cloverleaf pattern. Have a kid get on his bike and start at one of the cones. On your mark, have the kid race around the cones as many times as he can in a set amount of time. Count how many rotations he does and award extra points for how close he rides to the cones. If anyone knocks over a cone, a point is deducted from his score. The racer with the highest number of points wins.

Use Your Beanie

This bike racing game is designed to improve your balance and accuracy on a bike. Draw a start and finish line with a piece of chalk in an empty playground or parking lot. Line up with your friends at the start line with your bikes and helmets. Place a bean bag on the top of each one of your helmets. On your mark, have everyone ride towards the finish line. The first player to cross the line without losing her bean bag wins.
