How to Quickly Eliminate Warts With a Natural Remedy

Warts are growths caused by an infection of the human papilloma virus, and can affect the skin of the hands or soles of the feet. Although they frequently don't cause problems and can disappear on their own, they can also be painful or annoying. Since warts result from an infection, nutritional supplements and herbs that boost immunity may be helpful. Removing a wart using a natural remedy may take some time, however -- anywhere from three weeks to two months or more.

Garlic Patch

Step 1

Pat olive oil on the wart and skin that borders it. Apply two to four drops of tincture of thuja or tea tree oil.

Step 2

Remove outer peel of garlic. Cut a thin slice and tape over wart.

Step 3

Repeat every night for three weeks if necessary. Expect the wart to become black during the dying period.

Banana Peel Patch

Step 1

Pat olive oil on the wart and skin that borders it. Apply two to four drops of tincture of thuja or tea tree oil.

Step 2

Cut out a piece of banana peel and tape over the wart.

Step 3

Repeat every night for three weeks, if necessary.

Duct Tape

Step 1

Apply duct tape over wart. Keep covered six days.

Step 2

Remove duct tape. Place body part that has the wart in warm water. Soak.

Step 3

File wart using an emery board or pumice stone.

Step 4

Repeat the process for two months, if necessary.

Tips and Warnings

  • Symptoms can diminish through exercise and eating a healthy diet. Consume foods high in B-vitamins, calcium and antioxidants. Avoid sugar, caffeine, trans fatty acids and products made out of refined white flour. Reduce red meat intake. Take measures to avoid spreading warts, such as keeping your hands dry and washing them after touching the infected areas. Avoid picking at the warts and use shoes in public showers.
  • If any of the above remedies produce irritation of the skin surrounding the wart, remove the patch and stop the treatment. The patch and tape treatments can be used for warts of the hands, feet, legs or back. Do not use these for genital warts. If these remedies prove unsuccessful, or if the warts become painful or spread quickly, consult your doctor. Although the medical community states that the above solutions may work, there are no guarantees. Studies of the effectiveness of the duct tape method are contradictory, MayoClinic reports. A study of the garlic showed promise, but further tests are needed to provide definitive conclusions.
