Backyard trampolines can be fun for the whole family, but simply jumping up and down can get a little boring after a while. Thankfully, plenty of fun games can be introduced to the trampoline, adding new levels of excitement and competition while still providing healthy exercise.
Ants in Bed
This game requires a bunch of colored foam balls or balled up socks to play the part of ants, while the trampoline acts as the bed. The one-person variation features only one player on the trampoline. He attempts to bounce the ants off the bed as quickly as possible. Other competitors standing off the trampoline can time how long it takes. You can also put two players up on the trampoline. The first player again stands in the middle and attempts to bounce the ants out of the bed. The second player crawls around the trampoline and tries to save as many ants as possible, scooping the balls or socks into bag. Player one wins if he can kick out more ants than player two can save.
Crack the Egg
One player must sit in the middle of the trampoline and secure his knees to his chest with both arms. He's the egg. The other players circle around the egg and jump up and down, bouncing the egg all over the place until the egg cracks, meaning he lets go of his knees. Once the first egg cracks, another player rotates in to take his place. The winner is the egg who can remain in one piece the longest.
Snake
A jump rope plays the role of a snake in this trampoline game. One player controls the snake, sliding the jump rope back and forth over the trampoline's surface. The other players must jump and bounce to avoid the getting "bitten" by the snake. If the snake touches a player, that player takes over the job of controlling the jump rope.
Wild Boar
The wild boar trampoline game requires two or more players. One player, the wild boar, gets down on his hands and knees in the center of the trampoline. The boar must wear a blindfold or keep his eyes shut so he can't see. The other players stand on the trampoline in a loose circle around the boar. The wild boar jumps around wildly, while still on his hands and knees, and tries to touch one of the other players. If the boar gets too close to the trampoline's edge, the other players yell warnings to ensure the boar's safety.
