"Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness," wrote Edward Stanley, the Earl of Derby, in 1873. Walking for just one hour a week cuts the risk of heart attack in women by one half, according to a Harvard study of 39,372 professional women. Nothing will help you find the time for exercise like a good treadmill or elliptical trainer.

The Landice L770 Home ProSports Trainer is "one of the finest pieces of exercise equipment you'll ever own," according to the website Treadmill Talk. The aircraft-grade aluminum frame supports up to a 400-lb. user capacity, while the three horsepower continuous-duty motor provides power for even serious runners. The L770 features smooth, silent operation along with a 15 percent grade, large 20-inch by 58-inch deck and a lifetime warranty, making it one of the most recommended treadmills on the market. The Landice L770 Home ProSports Trainer retails for $3,795 as of early 2011.

Like many more expensive models, it features a three horsepower motor, 15 percent incline and even comes with an over-sized 20-inch by 60-inch belt. The F80 comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor, deck and frame, five-year coverage on the electronics, belt and rollers and two years on labor. The Sole F80 retails for $1,999 as of early 2011.
