The Firm Bar Exercise

The Firm is a company that produces fitness training videos for at-home workouts. The Firm often includes exercise tools with the video workouts. The power sculpt workout comes with a weighted bar to enhance your strength-training exercises. This is a strength workout, so allow for a day of rest between exercise sessions.

Sculpting System

The Firm's sculpting system combines basic aerobic movements with strength-training exercises. You will not use complicated dance choreography during this workout. The exercises are straightforward, no-nonsense and most are performed in a standing position.

The Bar

The Firm's sculpting bar consists of three 14-inch pieces that combine into one 42-inch stick. This gives you a variety of strength-training options. You can use two of the 3-pound bars as dumbbells during arm exercises. You can combine two bars into a 28-inch stick for abdominal training. The entire bar is used during standing exercises.

Standing

The Firm instructor, Allie Del Rio Pointer, guides you through a five-minute warm-up and nine-minute standing strength workout. You perform exercises such as squats, lunges, shoulder press, bicep curls and rows to strengthen your upper and lower body. Pointer combines upper and lower exercises to keep your heart rate elevated and burn additional calories.

Floor

The Firm uses the bar for four minutes of floor-strengthening exercises. You perform abdominal crunches, side-lying leg lifts, side twists and reverse crunches to strengthen your core and legs. Pointer will guide you through two minutes of flexibility exercises to lengthen your muscles and reduce muscular soreness for a total workout time of 20 minutes.
