Lemon juice has several medicinal properties. Along with being used as a diuretic and cleaning aid, lemon juice may be applied to the skin for cosmetic purposes. Lemon juice may reduce pimples, lighten skin and erase acne scars when applied topically. According to Barbara Van der Zee, author of "The Green Witch Herbal: Restoring Nature's Maginc in Home, Health and Beauty Care," you can apply lemon juice to normalize greasy skin and improve skin tone. Consult your dermatologist before applying any alternative treatment to your skin.

Step 1

Wash your face thoroughly with a mild cleanser. Dry your skin with a soft cloth.

Step 2

Squeeze the juice of two lemons into a small bowl. Dip a cotton swab into the juice and slowly apply the lemon juice all over your face in small dabs. There may be some slight stinging. The lemon juice will reduce pore size, fade scars and normalize oily skin over time.

Step 3

Leave the lemon juice on your skin for at least five minutes. Rinse your skin with warm water and pat your face dry with a soft cloth. Apply your regular moisturizer as normal. You may apply lemon juice to your skin once a day for general skin care.
