Tracking your daily intake of food and exercise can be a useful tool when losing weight and increasing nutrition. There are many applications on the market that can help this process, but not every one of them works on a Mac platform. Four programs that do work on Macs include Weight Mania Pro, Diet Controller, Recipe Analyzer 2 and My Food Diary. Most of these applications offer a free-trial period.
Weight Mania Pro
Weight Mania is weight loss software that works on a Mac. Not only does it provide nutritional information for thousands of foods, but it can also track workouts, weight loss and medical information. Daily calories, protein, carbs, fat, sugar, sodium, cholesterol, fiber and water are easily tracked. The software also lists hundreds of exercises and 14,000 serving sizes, along with graphs, charts, statistics and reports. Weight Mania Pro can be purchased for Mac use on their website for $69.99.
Diet Controller
Diet Controller is another system that has software for a Mac computer. According to their website, Diet Controller provides fast food searches and the full nutritional value for every food in their database. You also have the option of adding new foods to the database. There is also a panel that shows daily nutrient breakdown. With this software, menus can be made from your favorite foods. It also provides an exercise log. The cost for this software is $39.95 after a 10-day trial period.
Recipe Analyzer 2
Recipe Analyzer 2 is another software program that can be used on a Mac. According to the website, this software allows you to easily organize recipes, search thousands of ingredients for detailed nutrition information, and edit your own nutritional information for custom ingredients. This software also allows you to share recipes with family and friends. Used primarily as a cooking tool instead of a weight loss tool as many of the other forms of nutrition software, Recipe Analyzer 2 costs $19.95 for the Mac OS CD-Rom.
My Food Diary
My Food Diary can be used on any platform, Mac or PC, as it is a online-based nutrition system. My Food Diary, which includes a food diary with over 70,000 foods available in its database, can track 15 nutrients including calories, fat, cholesterol, protein and carbs. It also includes an exercise log, feedback reports and a weight loss forum where you can connect with others who are also following their nutrition closely. After a seven-day free trial, the cost is 29 cents per day or $9 a month.
