When you were a kid, the best part of a baseball game was probably the prospect of a delicious frozen treat on a hot summer's eve, compliments of your coach. The last thing you were probably worried about was how to properly put on your cleats, or making sure you were wearing the right kind for that matter. Adorning your feet with the proper athletic gear for baseball is not only important for your game, but also for your safety.
Step 1
Measure the size of the foot your are putting inside of the cleat with the baseball sock on. The sock will add some thickness to the foot so you may have to get a larger size than the foot's normal shoe size.
Step 2
Buy a pair of youth baseball cleats. Make sure the cleats are made of plastic and not metal, as these can be dangerous if worn by children. A higher cut cleat might be a good idea as it can offer more ankle support.
Step 3
Place the cleat on the foot, again with the baseball sock on. The cleat should feel tight and secure, but it shouldn't pinch near the toes.
Step 4
Tie the laces tight, and give the laces a double knot to make sure they stay tied during game play.
Tips and Warnings
- The cleats may seem tight at first, but will loosen up after you get use out of them.
