Elliptical machines give you a full body workout without putting the stress on your joints that other cardiovascular exercises do. Smooth CE 3.6

For $1300, you also get tilt and go wheels to move this elliptical where you need it easily. Moving handlebars allow for a total body workout by working your cardiovascular system as well as your upper and lower body.

Sole E35

Sole is a leader in treadmills and there elliptical machines definitely hit the mark. The E35 has stationary handlebars with heart rate sensors and a chest strap for continuous heart rate monitoring as well. Incline feature allows for more resistance and the angle can be changed from zero to 30 degrees. In February 2011, the Sole E35 had a price tag of $1300.

Sole E25

For under $1000, this elliptical comes with most of features of the more expensive E35 model. The heart rate sensors, built in fan and adjustable angle ramp are all still included. The major difference in the E25 comes in the weighted flywheel. This model has a 19-pound flywheel where the E35 model comes with a 25-pound flywheel. The weight of the flywheel keeps the motion fluid and feeling smooth and 19-pounds is still an impressive weight for a home elliptical machine.

Sole E95

The $1700 price tag on the Sole E95 is the highest cost of the Sole models. For your money you get the most features Sole offers in an elliptical. Everything included in their other models and a vibrant LCD screen, increased flywheel weight of 29 pounds and the put the resistance and incline controls for the E95 in the handles.

Precor EFX

Precor makes commercial grade ellipticals and the price shows it. As of February 2011, the EFX 5.25 sold for $3000. Precor has patented their low impact, EFX motion and for a more comfortable workout, it provides the "lowest Rate of Perceived Exertion of any cardio exercise system." Additional features include moving handlebars and a ramp that adjusts from 15 to 25 degrees for a full body workout. They back it all up with a lifetime frame and 10-year parts and wear warranty.
