Warrior baseball bats are made from aluminum and are manufactured by one of the most popular bat companies in all of baseball, Louisville Slugger. The company has a rich history of making quality baseball equipment, and the Warrior bat line has shown a natural evolution and progression from its origins in the 1800s.

First Louisville Bats

Louisville Slugger would not be making its aluminum baseball bats without developing its overall bat infrastructure. The first Louisville baseball bats were made in the late 1800s. The material used was wood, and the bats were designed after several leading players had trouble with their bats breaking after contacting fast pitches, or hitting balls off the handle. Wood became the standard in baseball bats until the introduction of aluminum in 1973, according to the company Web site.

Aluminum Evolves

Louisville's aluminum models evolved from remedial models first used in the 1970s, to powerful, technologically advanced lines in the 2000s. These bats create tremendous whip and torque, and are able to drive the ball increasingly far distances -- especially with pitchers at the highest levels of high school and college baseball throwing at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour. The Warrior bats evolved from these original aluminum lines first employed in 1973.

Warrior Aluminum

Warrior baseball bats were first introduced in the year 2005 to a variety of teams. The bats started at the youth, recreational and travel levels. They quickly became favorites of competitive team because of their lightweight design and solid feel on contact. This progressed the bats to high school programs, and eventually some competitive high school programs. With word about the bats spreading to competitive players, Warriors invested additional dollars in research and development for the bats.

Warrior Style

As of January 2011, Louisville Slugger manufacturers Warrior aluminum bats for all ages and abilities. The growth of its competitive bat line was important, but Louisville decided that this line might appeal to younger players in tee-ball and coach pitch. Also included in the marketing plan were adults that participate in semi-professional and recreational baseball leagues. Louisville also expanded the Warrior line to softball, where it makes aluminum bats for all levels of play. The Warrior line has evolved with time and now appeals to all players and ages.
