The PowerBar has been providing athletes with a concentrated source of energy since 1983, according to the PowerBar website. In the mid 1990s, PowerBar introduced other energy-enhancing foods to its line, including PowerBar gel and PowerBar Harvest. As of 2011, Power Bar offers an extensive line of bars, gels and drinks. Knowing the nutrition information for the various products can help you determine the right product for your dietary and athletic needs.

Bars

PowerBar offers more than 10 different types of nutrition bars, including the Fruit and Smoothie Energy bar, the Harvest bar, the Protein Plus bar and the Pria bar. The nutrition information for each bar varies. One Fruit and Smoothie Energy bar contains 220 calories, 3.5 g of total fat, 0.5 g of saturated fat, 180 mg of sodium, 43 g of carbohydrates and 6 g of protein. One Harvest bar contains 250 calories, 5 g of total fat, 2 g of saturated fat, 140 mg of sodium, 43 g of carbohydrates, 5 g of fiber and 10 g of protein. One Pria bar contains 110 calories, 3.5 g of total fat, 2.5 g of saturated fat, 90 mg of sodium, 15 g of carbohydrates, 1 g of fiber and 5 g of protein. One Protein Plus bar contains 300 calories, 6 g of total fat, 3.5 g of saturated fat, 170 mg of sodium, 38 g of carbohydrates, 1 g of fiber and 23 g of protein.

Energy Gels

PowerBar Energy Gels are designed to provide energy in the form of carbohydrates and replace sodium lost through perspiration. One Energy Gel packet contains 110 calories, 0 g of fat, 27 g of carbohydrates, 200 mg of sodium and 0 g of protein. If you have been exercising at a high intensity level for more than an hour, sports gels and drinks act as a source of energy and replace fluids.

Sports Drinks and Mixes

PowerBar offers a number of different sport drinks and mixes. An 8-oz. serving of the Ironman PERFORM contains 70 calories, 0 g of fat, 190 mg of sodium, 17 g of carbohydrates and 0 g of protein. PowerBar Protein Plus drink mix contains 130 calories, 2 g of total fat, 1 g of saturated fat, 250 mg of sodium, 7 g of carbohydrates and 20 g of protein per scoop.

Bites

The PowerBar Bites include Protein Plus and Energy Bites. One Protein Plus Bites pouch contains 300 calories, 10 g of total fat, 3.5 g of saturated fat, 270 mg of sodium, 34 g of carbohydrates, 6 g of fiber and 20 g of protein. Four Energy Bite pieces contain 150 calories, 3 g of total fat, 1.5 g of saturated fat, 125 mg of sodium, 26 g of carbohydrates, 1 g of fiber and 5 g of protein.

Energy Blast

PowerBar Energy Blasts are gel-filled chews that act as a quick source of energy. One pouch contains 190 calories, 0 g of fat, 60 mg of sodium, 45 g of carbohydrates and 3 g of protein.
