Food With Stevia

An herb in the sunflower family, Stevia is also called sweetleaf or sugarleaf because of the sweet taste of its leaves. It has been used as a sugar substitute in many countries, except the United States, where until 2009 it was sold exclusively as a supplement. In 2009, the Food and Drug Administration approved it as a sweetener in two products: Truvia™ and PureVia™. At the end of 2009, it was used only in drinks, gum and sweetener packets. Stevia has zero calories, little effect on blood glucose levels and is 300 times sweeter than sugar.

Zevia

Zevia is a soda that has zero calories and fat, zero net carbs, and no artificial flavors, colors or chemically processed sugar substitutes. It comes in six flavors and is sweetened with Stevia.

Puredent Gum

Puredent Gum gum uses Stevia as well as Magnolia bark extract, which kills oral bacteria.

Sprite Green™ & Odwalla®

Coca Cola manufactures two drinks, Sprite Green™ and Odwalla®, which utilize the natural sweetener known as Truvia™. Coca Cola and the company Cargill manufactured Truvia from Stevia.
