The Exercise Equipment Expert website chose the Ignite 746 as the best recumbent stationary bike in its class. Both models are produced by Lamar Fitness and sold through specialty fitness stores.

Ignite 745 Features

Features of the Ignite 745 include 20 workout programs, 16 levels of resistance, large electronic console, heart rate monitoring, body fat measuring, built-in speakers, a lifetime warranty on the frame and two years on the mechanical parts. Lumbar support is offered on the bike, along with water bottle holders, oversized seat and adjustable foot pedals.

Ignite 746 Features

The Ignite 746 contains most of the same features as the Ignite 745, including 20 programs, 16 resistance levels, telemetric heart rate monitoring and body fat testing. What sets this bike apart from the 745 is that this version is marketed to individuals with mobility problems. It has a low step-through frame that makes it easier to get on and off of the bike.

Potential

Although the Ignite bikes are considered some of the best around, you can find similar models in this price range with many of the same great features. As of February 2011, mid-priced bikes fall in the $500 to $1,000 range. For instance, the Schwinn 213 is a mid-priced recumbent exercise bike with 16 resistance levels, 11 programs, BMI measuring and built-in heart rate sensors. The LCD console keeps track of distance, calories burned, time and speed.
