There are also topical preparations containing coenzyme Q10 for use in treating gum disease and for skin applications.
5. Too Much of a Good Thing
Exercise a few precautions when taking coenzyme Q10. Since it lowers blood pressure, people using blood pressure medications should monitor their blood pressure to make sure it does not go too low. Because there is evidence that coenzyme Q10 can also lower glucose levels, people using diabetes drugs should check their blood sugar level to ensure it does not go too low. Heart conditions can be very serious so you should consult with your doctor before taking coenzyme Q10 for a heart condition.
