The Sears Lifestyler 2800 Treadmill is a relatively old model of home fitness equipment that you're not likely to find in stores any more. You might still encounter a used model, however. The Lifestyler 2800 treadmills have a motorized treadmill belt. Unlike some other older treadmills, you don't have to get off the treadmill to adjust the speed on a Lifestyler treadmill. You control the speed of the motor using a knob that's mounted in the center of the treadmill console.
Step 1
Turn the Lifestyler's speed control knob all the way to the left, or counterclockwise, until it hits the stopper at the "Reset" position. You must do this every time you turn the treadmill on.
Step 2
Twist the speed control knob to the right (clockwise) until the treadmill belt is moving slowly. Step on to the belt and walk.
Step 3
Continue twisting the speed control knob to the right. This will speed the Lifestyler treadmill up. Keep twisting until the treadmill either reaches its maximum speed or you have the belt going as fast as you like.
