Keo is a signature pedal from Look Cycle. The company says it invented the first automatic carbon fiber pedal in 1986. Look, based in France, ships pedals and bike accessories across the world. The Keo pedal from Look has been specifically designed for road bikes and is not intended for installation on a mountain bike.
Keo Blade
The Keo pedal comes in numerous models, including the Keo Blade. According to Look Cycle, Keo Blade pedals have been designed for recreational and competition level road bikes. Do not attempt to install Keo Blade pedals on your mountain bike. The carbon blade of these Keo pedals is compatible with the cleats of road-biking shoes. When fastened onto the crank arms of your road bike, the Keo Blade pedals can boost your pedaling efficiency. These lightweight pedals weigh only 95 g.
Keo Classic
The Classic refers to another model of Keo road bike pedals. As opposed to the carbon blade of the Keo Blade, the Keo Classic features an adjustable retention spring. Do not attempt to install the Keo Classic pedals on your off-road mountain bike. According to Look Cycle, Keo Classic pedals have been specifically designed for recreational road bikes. The cleats of your mountain biking shoes will not fit with the retention spring housed within Keo Classic pedals.
Keo Easy
The Keo Easy model allows you to quickly release the cleats of your road biking shoes from the retention spring. Keo Easy pedals have been designed to boost your pedaling efficiency during leisurely rides on your road bike. Once again, do not attempt to install these pedals onto the crank arms of your mountain bike. Keo Easy pedals are compatible only with a certain pair of shoes made by Look.
