The Union of European Football Associations, better known by the acronym UEFA, is the governing body of European football organizations, called soccer in the U.S., which oversees revenue and management. UEFA abides by the rules and regulations of FIFA, which is the international soccer federation overseeing UEFA and soccer around the globe.
Length And Width
The length and width of UEFA fields should be uniform, at 105 meters long and 68 meter wide. There needs to be a buffer of 10 meters on each end line and 6 meters on each sideline, to provide a buffer for players to warm up as well as room for photographers to operate. This makes the total area of the field and surrounding area a pitch of 125 meters by 80 meters, for a surface area of 10,000 square meters.
Penalty Box
The penalty box should be a rectangle centered on the end line, measuring 40.32 meters wide. The goal mouth is centered on this line, with the goal 7.32 meters wide. The penalty area extends 16.5 meters up the field. There is a smaller box within the penalty box, from which goal kicks are taken from. This box is 11 meters wide by 5.5 meters long.
Center Circle
A circle is on the center of the field, from which kickoffs are taken. Only two offensive players may be in the center circle before the kickoff, with no defensive players allowed in the circle. The circle has a 9.15-meter radius, centered on the kickoff spot.
Corner Kicks
Corner kicks are taken from a quarter-circle wedge in the corner of the field, with a one meter radius. The ball must be within the wedge when the corner kick is taken.
Field Lines
The field should be lined with white paint, with the lines not to measure more than 12 cm wide.
Goal
The goal should be a rectangle, with the crossbars and goalposts each painted white. The goal mouth should measure 7.32 meters wide and 2.44 meters high.
