Imagine you are taking an anatomy class and are told to learn the bones in your body within one week. You panic because you are not too keen on memorization. Your body contains 206 bones, according to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Relax. There are quick and effective ways to learn and remember the bones in the body.

Step 1

Use the Internet. There are many medical websites that quiz you on bone structures. For example, the Loyola University medical school provides you with a website called the bone box. Different bone parts are labeled to quiz you on your knowledge. See Resources below.

Step 2

Go to your local bookstore and purchase Netter's Anatomy Coloring Book. This is an illustrative and detailed book that allows you to learn your skeletal bones in an artistic and fun way. Information about each of the bones is also provided under the diagrams. As you color, you will learn the names and functions of the bones as well.

Step 3

Buy a Painted and Numbered Big Tim Skeletal Model CMS65, a 3-dimensional replica of how your bones are situated in your body.

Step 4

Form a study group. Sometimes working with other people can help you learn the bones. Bring your skeletal model and anatomy coloring book. You can discuss the bones and quiz each other.

Visit a science museum. Most science museums contain a replica of the human skeleton. Sometimes, these exhibits are interactive, which will further facilitate your memorization.
