If you are 15 years old and wish to lose weight quickly, you should first speak to your doctor. Teens go through rapid periods of growth and any weight gain that they experience may be something that they grow out of. Although you can lose the weight quickly, you don't want to drop too much in a short period of time and especially not through the use of fad diets. Fad diets will not likely help you establish long term weight loss.
Step 1
Cut out high calorie foods that have no nutritional value. Many 15 year olds eat too much junk food, like fast food, candy, cakes, cookies and especially soda.
Step 2
Replace the junk food with healthier alternatives. You can drink diet soda and water to cut out empty soda calories. Eat fruits for snacks and limit yourself to only the occasional treat if you want to lose weight fast.
Step 3
Remember to eat breakfast each morning. Even if you're rushing to catch the bus, if you skip breakfast, you are more likely to overindulge later in the day. Keep the breakfast low in calories, but high in nutrition. Some options include a cup of nonfat yogurt, a piece of fruit or bowl of cereal and skim milk.
Step 4
Eat healthier foods at school. Avoid pizza, fries, fried chicken and other traditional lunch menu options. Choose sandwiches on whole grain breads, vegetables and non-fried meats. If you drink milk, which many 15 year olds should as their skeletons are still developing and they need the calcium, pick low fat varieties.
Step 5
Make time to workout. If you want to lose weight when you are 15, you are going to have to get off the couch and get moving. Do aerobics on your own or participate in a sport through school. Some high calorie burners include soccer, running, swimming and cycling. If you want to drop the pounds quickly, aim to exercise between 45 minutes and an hour each day.
