How to Lose Weight in Two Weeks

A lot of people think weight loss is something that can happen immediately or overnight. While this isn't the case, it is possible to drop a few pounds in two weeks' time just by altering your dietary and fitness lifestyle in moderate ways. You can expect to lose between 2 and 5 lbs. during this time and establish new, healthy habits that will make continued weight loss easier to achieve and commit to in the weeks, months and years that follow.

Week 1

Step 1

Drink between eight and 10 glasses of water a day. Don't wait until you feel thirsty. Make it a habit to drink water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated so it will burn fat faster and you will achieve two-week weight loss.

Step 2

Quit drinking soda. Get rid of sodas in your home and drink water or tea when going out to a restaurant. Sodas are filled with sugar, which can make you dehydrated, and are high in calories and have a low nutritional value. Drinking soda on a regular basis will impair your ability to lose weight fast.

Step 3

Stop eating junk food and fast food. Toss chips, cookies or other unhealthy snacks from your cupboards. They'll serve as too great a temptation when trying to lose weight. Plan your meals ahead of time so you won't be tempted to hit up the drive through for high-fat and weight loss-impairing fast food.

Week 2

Step 1

Eat more vegetables and fruits. To make it simple, add a serving of vegetables to every meal you eat. Whenever you feel like snacking, grab a piece of fruit to satisfy your hunger. Doing this will increase your fiber and water intake, which keeps you feeling full without loading you up with calories.

Step 2

Exercise in the morning. Always start the day off with some exercise. Whether you like to jog or go for a swim doesn't matter. What does is that you are physically active for 30 minutes every day. This will burn calories and fat so you can start to see a dramatic loss in weight.

Step 3

Exercise in the evening. Another 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity in the evening will burn additional calories and fat. Follow an aerobics video or use an elliptical machine. When trying to lose weight within two weeks, extra workouts are beneficial.
