Psoriasis is a skin condition that involves an abnormally fast production of patches of skin, resulting in an inflammatory rash. Usually located on the outer, extensor surfaces of the extremities, psoriasis can also be found on the back, abdomen and scalp. There are many treatment options for psoriasis, including the use of alternative therapies such as mangosteen, a natural anti-inflammatory used in many conditions.

Step 1

Take mangosteen pills. Mangosteen is formulated in pill or capsule form, with dosages around 500 mg. The recommended dosage for the anti-inflammatory properties of mangosteen is 500 mg twice a day.

Step 2

Try mangosteen juice. Magosteen also comes in the form of liquid or juice. The recommended dose of mangosteen in this form is 1 oz., or 30 ml per day.

Step 3

Rub on some cream. Mangosteen is also manufactured as a cream or ointment. Mangosteen cream can be applied modestly to inflamed areas of skin one to two times per day.
