Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar is an unpasteurized organic vinegar that contains the "mother." Made of pectin and apple residue, the mother looks like cloudy strands floating in the vinegar but is actually live enzymes that may aid in digestion, alkalize your body, boost your immune system and help your body eliminate toxins. One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar is calorie, fat, protein and sodium free and contains 11 mg of potassium.

Step 1

Dilute 1 to 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar with 8 oz. of filtered water. Do not drink Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar by itself. The Bragg Live Foods website explains that "because apple cider vinegar acts like a sponge, drawing toxins from the body tissues, it may cause you discomfort if you choose to digest the vinegar using spoonfuls only."

Step 2

Add 1 to 2 tbsp. of raw honey to your diluted apple cider vinegar. Honey contains bioactive enzymes that help your body digest and metabolize apple cider vinegar. Also, honey may make the taste of the vinegar more palatable.

Step 3

Drink the apple cider vinegar, honey and water cocktail in the morning before breakfast. You may drink the mixture up to three times per day to treat acute conditions such as allergies or acid reflux, recommends EarthClinic.com. To keep your body continually alkalized, you could simply add a splash of apple cider vinegar to every glass of water you drink. Omit the sweetener, as honey or maple syrup may add too many calories to your diet if you drink the recommended eight to 10 glasses of water daily.

Tips and Warnings

  • Adding a dash of cayenne pepper to your apple cider vinegar drink will really wake you up in the morning. Adding freshly squeezed organic lemon juice to your vinegar drink may also disguise the flavor of the apple cider vinegar.
