It is possible to lose weight quickly with diet pills, fasting and fad diets. These methods will not enable you to sustain weight loss long-term however, because you will gain back weight after you stop taking the pills, quit fasting and discontinue dieting. Instead, you can follow these guidelines to help you lose weight quickly permanently, while still eating normal foods.
Step 1
Eat small meals during the day. Make breakfast your largest meal and eat it as soon as you wake up to prevent feeling excessively hungry later in the day. If you work during the day, you can eat at 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Step 2
Treat food as medication that helps your body fight off and prevent illness naturally. Eat foods from all of the food groups (fruits, vegetables, meats, carbohydrates, dairy products and small portions of fat). Do not eat junk food, such as hamburgers, chips, ice cream, cookies and french fries, as these can easily lead to obesity, heart disease, diabetes and other health complications.
Step 3
Do not eat when you are in a rush. Slow down to ensure you enjoy and savor the entire process of eating your food. Do not eat while walking or driving, as this causes you to consume more calories than is necessary. You should instead sit while you eat to help you eat at a slower pace, which will help you lose weight quickly because your brain will have adequate time to receive a signal from your stomach that indicates when you are full.
Step 4
Eat a fiber-rich diet to help you feel full for a longer period of time and enable your stomach to digest your food properly. Eat foods such as nuts, potatoes, figs, beans, strawberries, apples, chickpeas and brown rice to ensure your body gets enough fiber.
Step 5
Include protein in all of your meals to help your body grow and repair muscle mass easily, which will help you burn calories faster. You can eat foods like turkey or chicken breast (with the skin removed), tuna, white eggs and low-fat cottage cheese to receive adequate protein.
Step 6
Remove food temptations from your house. Get rid of all chocolates, biscuits, pastries and chips. Replace these food items with fresh vegetables and fruits (as these food choices have much fewer calories).
Step 7
Find food substitutes to replace the foods you crave and overeat as a result. Eat frozen grapes instead of chocolates or candy (as frozen grapes provide you the sweetness you look for in chocolates and candy without the fat). Replace regular cheese with low-fat cheese. Eat low-fat frozen yogurt instead of consuming ice cream.
Step 8
Do not eat late at night, as this prevents you from having the opportunity to burn off the calories you take in, which causes weight gain.
