"Wii Fit" uses exercises disguised as video games to help improve your fitness and track your progress while you have fun. The five training categories offered by "Wii Fit" include yoga, strength training, aerobic games, balance games and the training plus mode. "Wii Fit" utilizes a balance board to sense your movements while exercising to video games.

Getting Started

Before you start, choose a Mii, a virtual you, and establish your baseline. The game walks you through the steps to obtain your initial body measurements. "Wii Fit" uses the body test and combines your weight, your BMI, your center of balance and how you control your body to determine your "Wii Fit" age, help you set goals and begin your activity log to track your daily progress.

Warm-Up Exercises

The "Wii Fit" offers some warm-up exercise games that elevate your body temperature and warms your muscles. One such game is "Birds Eye Bull's Eye." Stand on the balance board and flap your arms like a bird. Shift your weight forward, left or right to fly your Mii toward the round target platforms. You have 60 seconds to land on each target. Each successful landing adds seconds to your clock and determines your final score.

Working Your Shoulders and Back

Strengthen your shoulders and back by playing "Big Top Juggling." Stand on the board and balance your Mii on the large ball. Keep you Mii balanced as you physically catch the virtual balls thrown to your Mii. Flick your wrist to juggle the virtual balls while Miis in the virtual world throw bombs that you must dodge. You have 90 seconds to juggle three balls, receiving points for each successful juggle.

Tighten Your Tummy

Burn fat from your waistline by playing "Snowball Fight." Lean to the left or right on the board to move your Mii from behind its protection and throw snowballs at your opponents. Physically throw your arm toward the screen to hit your opponents with a snowball. Getting hit with a snowball temporarily obstructs your vision and your game is over if you get hit too many times. You have 90 seconds to hit as many opponents as possible, scoring points for every hit target.

Fat Burning

To burn fat from your entire body, try "Island Cycling." Step up and down on the balance board to pedal your bicycle -- the faster you move your feet the faster your Mii pedals your bike. Hold the Wii remote as if it were handlebars and tilt it in the direction you want to go. Clear all the flags on the course and return to the starting line. Your game score equals the number of miles you cycled.

Create Your Routine

Visit the "Wii Fit" menu screen to create your own routine, combining yoga, strength training and some of your favorite games to get an overall workout. There are 60 games from which to choose. Pick games and activities that work your targeted areas. For example, you could choose yoga poses that target both your upper and lower body, such as "Palm Tree," "Chair," "Spine Extension" and "Arm and Leg Lift," along with aerobic exercises such as "Rhythm Boxing" and "Super Hula Hoop." You can complete your routine with fun games, such as "Balance Bubble Plus," "Rhythm Parade," and "Tilt City," and reward yourself with a visit to the "Driving Range."
