Weight loss can help you stay in shape and live a healthy life. There are several methods to doing this, such as aerobics, yoga or weight lifting. These can be accompanied by diets, such as Atkins or South Beach. However, you can effectively lose weight in tandem with you exercise plan without having to resort to using one of the popularized diets. Eating fruits is not only beneficial due to their richness in vitamins and minerals, but can help you to lose weight as well.
Step 1
Add healthy fruit to your breakfast every day. Toss a handful of berries, sliced peaches and bananas on a bowl of cold cereal. Avoid eating bagels and donuts; instead, eat granola or other high fiber, low fat cereal.
Step 2
Replace everyday snacks, such as chips, cookies and candy, with grapefruit. Peel and cut a grapefruit into sections and place in plastic zipper bags. Take them with you to work, and whenever you have a craving for chips or other unhealthy snack, you can easily have access to fruit.
Step 3
Eat three to four apples every day to help control your sweet tooth. You can slice the apples and sprinkle cinnamon powder on them for better taste.
Step 4
Eat 1/2 cup of fiber rich fruit after eating a healthy dinner. Fruits rich in fiber include prunes, apples, apricots and boysenberries. Fiber binds to fats and cholesterol in the foods you consume, making your stool bulky. This makes your stool soft and simpler to flush out fats out of your body via waste, thereby helping you lose weight easily.
Step 5
Keep a bowl of dried fruit on your kitchen counter and in your living room near the television. You will tend to reach for fruit instead of unhealthy snacks when you crave sweets.
