Kickboxing workouts burn an average 500 calories per hour, according to "Fitness" magazine. The workouts target multiple areas of the body, including your arms, shoulders, thighs, abs and buttocks. Many kickboxing workouts can be broken down into 10-minute segments, so you can fit your exercise into a busy schedule.
The Kung Fu Kickboxing Workout
The Kung Fu Kickboxing Workout is a "pure, unadulterated martial-arts workout," according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The workout has three routines that run about 20 minutes each. The workouts are designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of fitness and experience. The workouts are guided by Tiffany and Max Chen, both accomplished martial artists and instructors at a New York studio owned by grandmaster William C.C. Chen. The workout routine utilizes the Shan Shou kickboxing style.
Billy Blanks: This is Tae Bo
Billy Blanks: This is Tae Bo is a workout routine that combines tae kwon do, karate and kickboxing moves into a well-rounded routine meant to give you a full-body workout. Billy Blanks is a seven-time world karate champion, eighth-degree black belt in tae kwon do and has been inducted into the Karate Hall of Fame. He developed tae bo as a cardio and full-body workout while combining martial arts and dance moves.
Quickfix -- Total Cardio Kick
Quickfix -- Total Cardio Kick offers four 10-minute kickboxing segment workouts. They are designed for mid-beginner to mid-intermediate fitness levels. The workout is presented by Janis Saffell, who is a certified personal trainer, IDEA World Fitness presenter and a USGF certified gymnastics coach and judge.
Fat Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies
Fat Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies was given the Best Calorie Blasting DVD of 2006 by "Fitness" magazine. The workout offers a 15-minute slow-paced tutorial to help beginners learn the basics and form of each move used in the main workout routine. The workout is presented by Keli Robers, who is an ACE gold certified personal trainer and is on the advisory board for "Fitness" magazine. She also is a member of the Nautilus Institute advisory board.
