Losing 10 lbs., though it is a common goal for many, may not be as easy as it seems. Frustration results when what seems like a minimal amount of pounds proves difficult to get rid of. That weight might be hanging on for reasons you may have overlooked. The problem most often narrows down to diet. Simple tweaking of your daily eating habits may be a solution. Learn important tips to ensure your daily nutrition and lose unwanted pounds.

Journal Your Eating Habits

Keeping track of your daily eating habits helps keep your eating plan on track. Recording everything you consume throughout the day allows you to track eating habits. Writing what you ate and how you felt at the time can help you zero in on bad eating habits. Keep track of all of your cheats and slip-ups. Being honest with yourself is necessary for helping you know your weaknesses and for helping you avoid similar slip-ups in the future.

Intensify Your Workouts

If your workouts consist of 35 minutes of walking on a treadmill, then it's time to increase the intensity. Intervals provide one way to blast away extra pounds. They consist of bursts of intense activity with short periods of rest. One way to do intervals is to incorporate bursts of sprints into a slow jog. After warming up, go all out with 30 seconds of intense sprinting, then return to a slow jog for approximately three minutes. Make it goal to work your way up to a 30-minute session.

Always Eat Breakfast

Eating a healthy breakfast in the morning is a way to ward off unnecessary snack cravings later on in the morning. Treat yourself to a bowl of cereal with fat-free milk to help jump-start your metabolism. Another breakfast options include a toasted whole-wheat egg sandwich, or fat-free yogurt with almonds and berries. Breakfast should leave you feeling satisfied. Skipping breakfast can lead to over-snacking on higher calorie foods to make up for not eating breakfast.

Drink More Water

Drink at least six to eight glasses of water every day. Water offers health benefits such as helping nutrients reach your cells and flushing toxins out of your system. Water assists you in making up for the fluids you lose when sweating due to exercise. It is recommended that you have a glass of water with every meal. Water helps you feel satiated, giving the feeling of being full and can prevent you from snacking unnecessarily.
