The American Dietetic Association, with members around the world, provides science-based, research-supported and unbiased food and nutrition information. It is a professional organization geared toward educating the public, health-care providers, students and the media about recent scientific findings, weight-loss issues, food and nutrition topics, disease management and prevention, and food safety.

Healthfinder.gov, a website supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides reliable information about healthy living, heart health and the latest in health news. This site offers online tools to help you with food choices, menu planning, weight management, exercise and diet goals. It also helps you to make educated decisions about health screening and disease prevention. Healthfinder.gov provides tips for older adults, for a healthy pregnancy, for preventing HIV and STDs and on everyday health and wellness issues.
CDC Vital Signs
Providing credible health information, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, has an online newsletter, CDC Vital Signs, that provides current data and public health information on timely topics such as high blood pressure and cholesterol, teenage binge drinking, tobacco use, adult obesity, food and nutrition. CDC Vital Signs has a presence on Facebook and Twitter; you can also subscribe to RSS feeds.
USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center
Providing a wealth of up-to-date and reliable nutrition information, the Food and Nutrition Information Center has more than 2,500 links to dietary, nutrition, diet and disease, weight and obesity, food-safety and food-labeling, dietary supplement and consumer question-and-answer sites. This is an excellent source for recent surveys, reports and research on food- and nutrition-related information.
