Xanax, known generically as alprazolam, belongs to the family of drugs referred to as benzodiazepines. Signs of Overdose

Signs of Allergic Reaction
Call 911 immediately if you develop hives or a rash or an itch. Other allergic signs include swelling of the lips, tongue, face or throat, tightness in the throat or chest and difficulty swallowing or breathing.
