With the ever growing obsession of losing weight in the quickest way possible, people have tried everything to accomplish this goal, or have they? With each new day brings another idea to make this goal a reality. Whether it is to drop a few pounds before a reunion or to lose weight for your overall health there will never be an end to the possibilities for fast weight loss.
Exercising
A research study that was conducted at the University of Pittsburgh concluded that doing 10-minute cardiovascular workouts, three to four times per day, instead of one, 40-minute workout, boosts your metabolism and helps you lose weight faster. This works because when you split your workout sessions into four, you are not allowing your body the chance to slow down its fat-burning metabolism.
To Consume or Not to Consume?
If you want to lose weight at the fastest rate possible, you have to monitor what goes into your stomach. Do not consume fatty, sugary or junk foods, as these pound the calories into your body and are harder to burn off. Instead, eat a diet that consists of raw fruits and vegetables, fiber and protein, which give you the energy you need throughout the day while also fighting off hunger cravings. Instead of popping open that can of soda or beer, drink five to six glasses of water per day, which will lower the amount of fat stored in your body, resulting in weight coming off at a faster pace.
Proper Resting Periods
Because weight loss is generally associated with physical activity, you sometimes may forget the importance of sleep. According to a study published by Annals of Internal Medicine in October, 2010, not getting enough sleep may prevent weight loss in dieters. The study included 10 overweight individuals whose sleeping regimens were observed over a two-week period. The group that slept for 5.5 hours per night lost the same amount of weight as the group who slept for 8.5 hours, however, they lost muscle whereas the group that slept 8.5 hours lost mostly fat. When you do not allow yourself at least eight hours of sleep per night, your hormone ghrelin will rise and trigger hunger and promote the retention of fat.
Don't Starve Yourself
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that if you stop eating you're going to lose weight, but there is huge price that comes along with doing so. By reducing your daily intake of calories too low, you cause your metabolism rate to slow down and, once you resume normal eating habits again, you will gain back the weight at a must faster rate than you lost it. It is important that you don't stop eating altogether, rather just limit the amount of calories you consume each day to lose weight the fastest, healthiest way.
