The Go Lean Diet

The Kashi Go Lean diet is a meal plan aimed at helping you lose weight. The Go Lean products are formulated to provide you with a healthy dose of fiber, protein and complex carbohydrates in an easy-to-make cereal. High-fiber foods have been found not only to keep you fuller for longer, reducing calorie intake, but also to help lower your cholesterol and improve your health. According to a study published in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition," fiber, like that found in cereal, can lower total and LDL cholesterol.

Goal

The goal of the Go Lean diet is to help you lose weight and improve your health. According to Kashi, most of their Go Lean products contain about as much protein as one egg. They also have up to 8 g of fiber per serving. This combination of fiber and protein is meant to keep you feeling fuller for longer and reduce your caloric intake.

How It Works

The Go Lean diet urges its participants to replace two meals, breakfast and lunch, with a Kashi Go Lean product, which includes cereal or bars. Cereal should be portion-controlled and accompanied by a cup of skim milk. You can eat up to two snacks of fruit each day. For dinner, you are urged to eat a healthy meal containing a lean protein with vegetables.
