Apples And Cheddar

Fruit is a vital part of your diet. It provides important nutrients and fiber that is needed by your body. Fruit controls sweet cravings as it contains natural sugar. Apples are a popular fruit, but if you prefer, you can replace it with choices such as strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, raspberries and cantaloupe. Adding fat free cheddar cheese to your snack adds calcium to strengthen your bones and protein to prevent hunger and stabilize your blood sugar. The fruit and cheese can be eaten separate or together for a unique, satisfying flavor.

Vegetables And Dip

Raw vegetables and a dip made of yogurt combines crunchy and sweet into one delicious snack. Vegetables are packed with enzymes, vitamins and minerals while the yogurt is rich in protein and calcium. Slice up some of your favorite raw vegetables -- broccoli, celery and carrots -- into small, dippable pieces. Next, prepare your dip by combining 8 oz. of fat free yogurt, 1 tsp. of dried dill week and 1 tsp. of lemon juice. Refrigerate any leftovers and save it for your next snack.

Almonds

Almonds are loaded with phytochemicals and magnesium, making them an intelligent option. Consuming just 20 almonds gives you the same calcium you would get from drinking ¼ cup of milk. Almonds also provide your body with energy. The roasting process eliminates some of the vital nutrients so stick to the raw variety. If the almonds are difficult for you to digest, soak the almonds in green tea or water overnight to remove the acid from the outer layer.

Bananas

Bananas contain healthy carbohydrates and potassium, which prevent muscle cramps if eaten after a workout or run. Bananas are very easy for your stomach to digest thanks to the low fiber content and simple sugars they contain. A banana can be eaten fresh, right out of the peel or it can be frozen for an ice cold treat.
