Specialized Transition Expert
Slowtwitch ranks the 2011 Specialized Transition Expert among the top tri bikes. The bike has many noteworthy components. The frame and fork are made with carbon monocoque construction, a compact Vision Tech aerobar system and vertical seat adjustment. The bike is comfortable and quick. It sells for about $3,000, as of March 2011.
Cervelo P2
A bike's aerodynamics are important to the speed, command and success of a competitive triathlete. Pointy Helmet Coaching says the Cervelo is the most-ridden triathlon bike at the Ironman world championships. The specific geometry, aerobar handlebars and the reversible seat post increase the aerodynamics to maximize power and speed. Tri Gear Review says the Cervelo P2K is among the best triathlon bikes for under $2,500, as of March 2011.
