Though many people have belly fat, it can be a dangerous condition. Having excess fat on your belly could be put you at risk for many diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancer. Lose your belly fat quickly by putting your mind to it.

Cardiovascular Exercise

To lose belly fat, you have to lose weight from all over your body. Accomplish this by performing cardiovascular exercise on a regular basis. According to MayoClinic.com, you need at least 30 minutes of cardio five times a week to burn enough calories to result in weight loss. Participate in activities you enjoy like jogging, swimming or biking, and alter your routine if you get bored.

Build Muscle

Increasing your strength by building muscle mass can also help you to lose belly fat quickly. You can perform a variety of strength-training exercises like pushups, situps, reverse crunches, leglifts and weightlifting to build muscle mass and boost your metabolism, making your belly-fat loss go quicker.

Reduce Salt

To lose your belly fat, cut back on the amount of salt you consume. Having a diet loaded up with salt causes your body to retain water, which can make your belly bloated. Don't add table salt to meals and stay away from canned soups and pre-packaged foods to limit your sodium intake. Keep your sodium intake between 1,500 and 2,400 mg a day.

Eat Breakfast

Even though you may be eager to lose weight from your belly, skipping meals won't help. Skipping meals could make the problem even worse. Skipping a meal -- especially breakfast -- can slow your metabolism and force your body to start burning muscle to sustain itself. This is counterproductive and could make it harder to eliminate your belly fat.
