Belly fat can be hard to get rid of, leaving many people to believe they need a ton of money to enroll in a nutrition program or gym to cut the fat. However, this isn't true; you can burn belly fat just as easily at home as you can in a gym. You don't have to spend a dime on your weight loss efforts. Just a bit of knowledge and persistence is all you need to burn belly fat fast.
Step 1
Drink water with each meal. At least eight 8-oz. glasses of water is what you need each day to stay hydrated. Get the water you need by drinking a glass with breakfast, lunch and dinner, any snacks you may have, when you get up in the morning and right before going to bed. This will keep your digestive system moving and help expel waste from your system, which can be responsible for making your abdomen feel bloated.
Step 2
Don't skip meals, ever. Make it a habit to always eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Eating meals consistently throughout the day will keep your metabolism function normally and help your body burn fat. Just make sure those meals are low in calories, and include plenty of vegetables and whole grains.
Step 3
Target your abdomen in toning exercises. Perform any and every exercise you know that tightens abdominal muscles. A few you may want to try include sit-ups, crunches, leg lifts, leg raises, lunges and reverse crunches. These exercises firm up your belly, don't cost a penny and are a great way to build muscle definition that you can show off once the pounds come off.
Step 4
Get your heart rate up for at least 30 minutes a day. Any exercise you like (or can tolerate) that gets your heart rate up, like jogging, running, swimming, bike riding, aerobics, kickboxing or dancing, will suffice. This sort of exercise burns calories quickly and will aide you in your belly fat-busting efforts.
Step 5
Change up your exercise routine and increase the amount of belly fat you burn by picking up abdominal workout videos from the library. Keeping your exercise routine exciting and fresh will encourage you to continue this healthy habit and work different muscles, which is helpful in defining your abdominal muscles.
