Nautilus makes cardio and strength-fitness equipment for both residential and commercial use. Its commercial line of strength equipment includes selectorized machines, free weights, free-motion machines, plate-loaded machines and multi-station gyms. This equipment is designed to withstand the rigors of regular, heavy use in a commercial gym setting.
Selectorized Equipment
In March 2011, Nautilus offers three lines of selectorized strength equipment for commercial use. The Nautilus One line features an aluminum dial that you turn to select your resistance. The dial is in easy reach when you are seated on the machine. The Nitro Plus line adjusts the resistance with your range of motion. The resistance increases in the middle of the movement when your strength is at its peak. The Nova line is less expensive and less bulky than the other two selectorized-machine product lines. Each product line includes numerous pieces of equipment, such as a chest press, leg extension, abdominal curl and leg curl.
Plate-Loaded Equipment
The Nautilus XPload product line features plate-loaded strength equipment. These machines have the same Optimal Strength Curve Technology as the Nitro Plus line. The resistance increases in the middle of the range of motion. You load these machines with Olympic weight plates for resistance. The frames are constructed of 11-gauge steel. You can select from four different colors for the frame and 12 colors for the upholstery. The XPload line includes a vertical chest machine, overhead press, row, lat pulldown and others.
Racks and Benches
Nautilus produces several free-standing weight benches for commercial use. You can purchase a flat bench, adjustable bench, seated bench or an abdominal bench. The commercial line of benches features a ratcheting adjustment mechanism, which is more durable, instead of a pop pin. The adjustment levers are colored blue so members can easily find them. Wheels on the bottom allow members to move the benches around easily. Nautilus also sells Olympic benches with barbell racks and power racks for use in gyms.
Free Motion Machines
The Freedom Trainer is the Nautilus commercial free-motion machine. It features the Optimal Strength Curve Technology that adjusts the resistance to match your strength levels. The Freedom Trainer is available with a single-weight stack or a dual-weight stack. The cable arms are fully adjustable horizontally and vertically, allowing you to perform most any exercise. Athletes can replicate movements such as throwing, pitching, kicking and batting on the Freedom Trainer machine.
