Losing belly fat isn't extraordinarily difficult; it just requires commitment. It also requires an understanding that you can burn fat just on your belly. Spot reduction isn't possible. However, you can burn fat on your entire body quickly and easily through the adoption of a healthier diet and a targeted exercise plan that helps you burn calories and firm up your midsection in as little time as possible.

Step 1

Go for a jog, run, swim or bike ride for at least 30 minutes each day. Any exercise that gets your heart rate up and that you enjoy will work, it's just important that you are consistent with your workout. This will help to burn more calories and more fat in as short a time period as possible.

Step 2

Use a stability ball to tone your midsection, lower back and sides. Any exercise you perform on this ball will require balance in your core muscles, and the stronger your core is, the stronger your abdominal muscles will be. The way you carry your body will make your belly look flatter and reduce the look of belly fat.

Step 3

Stand up straighter by pulling your shoulders back and tightening your abdominal muscles. Over time, you'll strengthen your back and stomach muscles, improving your posture and reducing the look of your tummy bulge.

Step 4

Eat more foods that are high in fiber like whole grains and dark green, leafy vegetables. These will improve your digestive health and reduce some belly bloat. However, there is no such thing as a belly fat busting diet, according to nutritionist Joy Bauer, so don't commit to a specific diet that claims to boost your ability to burn belly fat. Instead, commit to a well-rounded healthy diet that reduces your caloric intake and helps you lose weight all over your body.

Step 5

Drink more water by ensuring you consume at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water a day. This will keep you hydrated and prevent dehydration, which can cause your body to hold onto water and cause bloating.
