Belly fat is one of the most common complaints of dieters. Everyone wants a trim, taut stomach, and this desire has brought about an influx of stomach toning machines into the fitness market. Some are used in gyms, while others can be used at home. Try a variety of exercise machines to target all of your major abdominal muscles.
Stability Ball
Stability balls are found in most gyms and can be purchased for home use. According to the American Council on Exercise, stability balls are one of the best pieces of equipment for abdominal exercises. It is a giant rubber ball that helps tone your abs. People with back problems and those who do not like floor exercises, find a stability ball advantageous. You can lie down on them to do crunches, or hold it to perform standing abdominal exercises.
Crunch Machine
A crunch machine, like the stability ball, is useful for those who cannot do ab exercises on the floor. This machine uses a padded bench, with neck and back support. Lie down, place your feet on the footrests, and hold both handles. Squeeze your abs and push forward on the handles toward your knees, and then release to starting position.
Ab Wheel
The ab wheel is a simple piece of ab equipment that is cheap, and takes up little space. It is a small wheel with two handles that jut out on each side of the axles. Use a solid surface, get on your knees and hold both handles with your arms straight in a locked position. Push the wheel as far as you can, then pull it back toward your body. You may also use the ab wheel diagonally to tone your obliques as well.
Torso Twist
The torso twist machine mostly works your obliques. Sit on the padded bench, press your chest against the pads and place the pin in the appropriate weight according to your strength. Grab the handles and shift from center to the right and then back to center for the number of prescribed reps. Switch to the left and do the same number of repetitions.
