Personal trainers are fitness professionals who teach, educate and guide their clients in all aspects of health and exercise. To be a successful and certified personal trainer, you need to take an online or in-class program and a certification examination offered by various schools and associations throughout the United States. One of these schools is the Vatterott College, which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and offers an in-class personal fitness trainer diploma program.
Vatterott College
The Vatterott Educational Centers offer 13 campuses in the United States, including Omaha, Oklahoma City, Springfield, Berkeley and Wichita. You can study several programs, including advanced medical assistant, alcohol drug abuse counselor, dental assistant, massage therapy, medical billing and coding, medical office assistant and personal fitness trainer. Depending on the program, you can graduate with an associate degree or a diploma. The programs are offered on campus, online or both. The Vatterott personal trainer program is offered only at the Omaha Campus.
Vatterott Omaha Campus
The Omaha campus is located at 11818 I Street, Omaha, Nebraska. The facility is a 102,579-square-foot complex with libraries, classrooms, student lounges, medical, dental, pharmacy, fitness trainer and veterinary labs. There is also a fully functional veterinary clinic and a cosmetology salon, used for the veterinary technician associate and cosmetology diploma degrees, respectively. The theory classes are taught with a 30-to-1 student to teacher ratio and the labs with 20-to-1 ratio.
Personal Fitness Trainer Program
The Vatterott College personal fitness trainer program prepares students for entry-level employment at gyms, fitness centers and corporate wellness programs, or for starting your own business. The program will teach you skills including how to perform variety of fitness assessments and tests, design safe and effective exercise and how to design weight loss or weight gain programs. You will also learn business skills to help you start your own personal trainer business.
Personal Trainer Program Certifications
The Vatterott personal trainer program includes the CPR and automated external defilrillators certifications that are reguired for most personal trainer positions. In addition, it will prepare you for the National Strength and Conditioning Association certified personal trainer examination. This examination is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
