For individuals who want to lose several pounds in just a few days, crash diets are the way to go. Most conventional diets focus on losing weight slowly but gradually over the long term, but a crash diet can bring off pounds each day for the first few days you diet. Unfortunately, they also have their drawbacks. Most crash diets limit your nutrition. They encourage weight loss but create a strain on your body. If kept going too long, these diets can cause severe health consequences, such as malnutrition, exhaustion and even organ failure.
Step 1
Choose how you want to diet. The crash diet you choose will depend on one of two things--whether you are only concerned about dropping fat or whether you want to eliminate toxins from your body by flushing it with antioxidants. Typically, your reason depends on how you gained the weight you want to lose. if you are trying to lose weight you just gained, burn it off fast with the tuna diet or veggies-only diet. If you are trying to shed pounds that have accumulated slowly over time, a cleansing crash diet like a juice diet or grape diet might be best.
Step 2
Decide how long the diet is going to be. Some diets can be beneficial after just one day. If you are only trying to lose a few pounds, that might be all you need. Typically, you do not want to exceed seven days on any crash diet without consulting your doctor about the risks and worries of going beyond that point.
Step 3
Drink plenty of water. Aim to drink a minimum of 8 glasses each day.
Step 4
Take one to two multi-vitamins each day to help supplement your diet while crashing. The vitamins will not add calories. They will benefit you.
