Chocolate diet drinks may not sould like they would contribute to weight loss, but certain chocolate drinks can provide valuable nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. Some low calorie diet drinks use chocolate flavoring to make them taste better, enticing dieters to stick to a low calorie meal supplement drink for longer. Investigate the health benefits linked to chocolate diet drinks and incorporate them into your weight loss plan.

Chocolate

Chocolate is made out of cocoa beans, which contain heart-healthy flavonoids and antioxidants. Flavonoids are known to have anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy and anti-viral capabilities. Antioxidants may protect your cells against free radicals such as air pollution. Darker chocolate has higher levels of flavonoids and antioxidants while milk and white chocolate have little to none of either, due to extremely high levels of food processing. One drawback is that chocolate is also high in saturated fat. Eating and drinking excessive amounts of chocolate may lead to weight gain.

Protein Shakes

Protein is an important part of your daily diet and it helps your body build and rebuild muscles, speed up the healing process after an intense workout and supports your cardiovascular system. If you find that you don't ingest enough protein through food, consider a protein shake. Protein shakes are said to reach your muscles faster than digested food and come in a variety of options including whey, soy, casein and milk. Protein shakes come in a variety of flavors too, including chocolate.

Chocolate milk contains many vitamins and nutrients as well as electrolytes, carbohydrates and proteins that helps your body heal quicker after a workout, gain muscle strength and contribute to weight loss. For the best amount of nutrients with the least amount of fat, choose either 1 percent, low-fat or fat-free chocolate milk. Whole milk contains too many calories to be beneficial.
