Food That Causes Weight Loss

Going on a diet to lose weight does not have to be a difficult proposition. All you have to do is know how to select the appropriate foods that will help you reach your goals. As a general rule, you will want to select foods that contain protein, fiber and other nutrients while being low in fat and calories. These foods help keep you feeling full while giving you the tools you need to replace your body fat with lean muscles.

Eggs

By eating eggs as a part of your diet, you'll be providing your body with the best quality proteins on the planet. Eggs are also low in calories. When you combine the two, you have one of the best, most complete foods for weight loss. When eating eggs, use only one yolk while using just the whites of the others eggs. This is important because the unhealthy cholesterol and fat is located in the yolk. For a delicious, healthy breakfast, scramble your eggs with a mixture of chopped onions, spinach, green peppers and mushrooms.

Salmon

Salmon is an excellent food source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3's are healthy fats that are vital in reducing inflammation in your body as well as decreasing your risk of heart disease. Omega-3 fatty acids have also been shown to improve your body's sensitivity to insulin, which is important as a stable blood sugar helps prevent the onset of cravings for foods that are bad for you. By grilling or steaming your salmon and using only natural flavors for seasoning, you'll have a food that is low in saturated fats, sodium, carbohydrates and calories.

Beans

Beans are a great food that contains high amounts of protein, fiber and other healthy nutrients. Like salmon, beans play an essential role in stabilizing your blood sugar, helping you feel full before you overeat. When you prevent your insulin levels from spiking, you limit the ability of your body to store the calories you consume as fat. Beans can be eaten as a main dish or added to sauces, salads, salsas, stews and soups.

Asparagus

The food that you probably refused to eat as a kid will now be one of your important diet foods. Asparagus is loaded with a lot of the good stuff you need for your diet such as vitamins A, C and K, fiber and folate. Asparagus also contains inulin, a healthy carbohydrate that promotes a healthy digestive system. Asparagus can be steamed and eaten alongside your favorite meals.
