1. The Main Purpose: Weight Loss
Losing weight improves health and boosts self confidence; the good habits act as an incentive to lose more and then roll over into all aspects of your life. When I lost 100 pounds, my self esteem soared. I had connected the dots between obesity and hypertension, heart disease, respiratory problems, gallstones, insomnia and some cancers.
Beauty and healing are an inside job. What we eat affects our mind, body and soul. A variety of organic juices are available from the generosity of the universe, and you can achieve the highest level of wellness and radiant skin. Some folks believe that feeling unwell and being mentally foggy is a natural part of aging! Liquid diets are used to improve those health conditions and to improve the quality of what you feed your body.
2. Why a Liquid Diet?
An overweight nation struggles to eat its fresh produce. What would your mother say if you didn't eat your 9 to 13 portions a day?
Industry influences us to think that convenient processed foods filled with preservatives and man-made additives are "natural" and "better" for us than whole foods. Sun-drenched produce is more available to our bodies than "dead" food intended to stay fresh for 10 years. Fresh whole foods allow us to live strong every day.
3. What is a Liquid Diet?
When it comes to eating fruits and vegetable, many of you would rather swallow than chew. A fruit, vegetable or blend in the form of a liquid beverage is a great way to swallow at least 5 to 9 of your daily quotient of produce. Our optimum daily goal is 13 one-half cups of produce a day. Ask your PCP questions relating to effectiveness, commitment, health risks, cost and more.
Here is a sample liquid diet: fresh fruit juices and nectars, fresh lemon juice, low sodium bouillon, organic virgin olive oil, organic coffee or green tea, plain yogurt or kefir, home made lemonaid, organic vegetable juice, water or low-sodium tomato juice. Mix it up to avoid boredom. Apple cider vinegar, apple cider, lemonade in water, garlic juice and distilled water together has its own exclusive brand of cleansing.
4. How Will I Lose Weight?
A reduction of 3,500 calories is required to lose 1 pound, and most liquid diets consist of a very low calorie intake of 400 to 800 calories a day. It's that simple.
Losing weight boosts self-confidence and a feeling of accomplishment, which is an incentive to lose more.
Fibrous fruits and vegetables are extremely important in weight loss, because it cleanses the digestive tract of toxins, aids in the absorption of fats and provides the delightful feeling of fullness. You don't need the pulp and fiber. The idea is to give your digestive system a restful vacation not a "Colon Pow".
5. Liquid Diete Caveats
During the 1970's, 58 deaths were linked to the insufficient nutrition and too little calories in liquid diets. These risks may result from lack of medical supervision or from people on the diet with only mild obesity.
If you have diabetes, low blood sugar, eating disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, addictions, underweight, anemia, impaired immune function, infection, nutritional deficiency, low blood pressure, ulcerative colitis cancer, terminal illness, epilepsy or other chronic conditions, you should not try a juice fast unless under strict medical supervision. Please consult your family physician before beginning any sort of fast. You can do it!
