Getting healthy has never been so much fun. New workout programs hit the market everyday to help us stay fit and healthy. The FIRM is a wide known brand in the fitness world. At least one person in your social circle has tried a FIRM workout. Here's a little peek of what you can expect.

The Facts

The FIRM is a method of working out not just a specific workout. The unique combination of aerobics and strength training is called Synergy Training.

History

Anna Benson created the FIRM methodology at The FIRM aerobics studio in South Carolina around 1979.

Function

The function of The FIRM workouts is to help people lose weight, increase muscle tone, feel more confident, and improve overall health.

Features

The Synergy Training methodology used in The FIRM workouts is unique because of the sequencing, intensity, and resistance. The FIRM workout combines high intensity moves with low intensity moves. Workouts alternate using muscles of the lower body in one move then muscles of the upper body in the next to keep the heart rate elevated. The use of varied resistance during FIRM workouts ensures that the muscles of the body are challenged.

Identification

You can identify any workouts from The FIRM by the magenta and white logo. Though the workouts vary, you can be sure you'll be using the Synergy Training method if you purchase a FIRM workout video.

Types

There are a variety of workout DVD's available from The FIRM. The WAVE workout features a personal gym, workout DVD's and poster. Other workouts from the firm include; Yoga, 500 Calorie Workout, TransFIRMation, and several others.
