1. Hydrogen Peroxide: The Dangerous
Some people will try peroxide therapy to try to cure their candida infection. This is dangerous. Hydrogen peroxide is not designed to be taken internally, and can lead to serious health complications, even death. Although some say the food grade hydrogen peroxide is safe in small (2 drops in an 8 ounce glass of water) doses, most health professionals will say that hydrogen peroxide is not the way to cure candida. Be sure to talk to your doctor or other health professional before starting any therapy.
2. Pull Out the Oil
There is a technique called "oil pulling," that says swishing oil in your mouth will cure candida. The basis of this technique is that the oil literally pulls the microorganisims out of your body through your saliva. Most proponents of this technique say to use sesame or sunflower oil, although there have been success stories with other types of oil as well. If you try this, be sure to discard the oil you have "pulled" because this is where the microorganisims have been deposited, and swallowing them would undo the good you might have done.
3. Starve Yeast With a Strict Diet
Yeast feeds on sugar, so theoretically if you cut out all the carbs in your diet you'll starve them to death and feel much better. This might seem difficult at first, especially since most of our diet consists of grains and sugars. However, proponents of the diet change theory say eating a wide variety of vegetables and proteins have given them the candida cure they needed. Make sure you discuss any dietary changes with your doctor before starting any new diet, especially one that is in direct opposition to the food pyramid.
4. Let the Cause Clear a Path to a Cure
Sometimes identifying what is causing the candida infection can help you cure it; for instance, some candida infections are caused by antibiotics. The antibiotics kill the good bacteria, one of which is acidophilus, that balance the candida in your intestinal tract. In some cases, birth control pills, hormones or hormone therapy cause an imbalance that leads to candida overgrowth. In other cases it is simply a deterioration of the immune system that lets the candida grow unchecked. Knowing which of these is the cause can help you determine what path to choose for the cure.
5. Keep Your Doctor Informed
Be sure to let your doctor know what your symptoms are and what method of candida cure you choose. Candida can be a sign of a more serious condition such as AIDS or diabetes, so be sure to let your doctor know about your symptoms to help determine if you need any further testing.
