Echinacea is a powerful immune-enhancing herb often used to treat infections caused by bacteria and viruses. Candida is a fungus that causes infection in warm, moist areas like the mouth and the vagina. These infections are normally a sign of a compromised immune system that is not strong enough to fight off the fungus. Echinacea, alone or in combination with other treatments, can help boost immunity. Echinacea comes in different forms -- root, tincture, fresh juice and capsule. Though it can be taken in a variety of ways, only use one form and method of administration at one time. Consult your doctor for more information.
Step 1
Add 8 to 12 oz of boiling water to 1 to 2g of echinacea root and drink the mixture as a tea three times daily for seven to ten days. Use only the tea form for all three doses, or alternate one dose with other forms of echinacea, i.e., capsules or tincture.
Step 2
Take 2 to 3mL of standardized tincture of echinacea three times a day for seven to ten days. Use only the tincture form for all three doses, or alternate with other forms of echinacea.
Step 3
Drink 6 to 9mL of expressed echinacea juice three times daily for seven to ten days. Use only the tincture form for all three doses, or alternate with other forms of echinacea.
Step 4
Take 300mg of powdered echinacea extract in capsule form three times a day for seven to ten days or according to package directions. Use only the tincture form for all three doses, or alternate with other forms of echinacea.
