In southern India, a group of fitness consultants, trainers and educators have put together training workshops for corporations and schools to learn about health management through exercise and nutrition while also offering group fitness classes and certifications. Using the registered trademark name Super Curves, their educational and fitness services are available only in the Bangalore area of India, but their concept of sharing information about diet and exercise for better overall health is a model for all cultures to follow.

Yoga, Pilates and Back Stability

Both Yoga and Pilates focus on strength, flexibility, balance and posture. Yoga incorporates a spiritual element as well; classes may include prayer, chants, incense or candles. For all the poses and breathing elements without the religious aspect, try Hatha Yoga, the most popular type, according to Super Curves. Pilates classes will focus more on your core muscles -- abs, back, thighs and buttocks. Back stability classes are offered for people who suffer from back problems to teach simple exercises that build back muscles while also teaching you about how your back functions.

Gym Stick and Weight Training

Gym Stick is an exercise tool that is basically made of resistance bands attached to a bar for weight-bearing exercise. Super Curves offers training and classes for three types of ways to use Gym Sticks: outdoor, indoor and in the water. Weight training involves using weight machines or free weights to increase bone density, build muscles, reduce risk of injury, reduce symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis and control your weight by burning calories more efficiently, even when you are at rest.

Cardiovascular Classes

Super Curves offers several different classes for cardiovascular training. Mainly there is step-aerobics and kick-boxing, but also dance, Cardio Striptease, belly dancing and others. Kick-boxing combines a less formal version of martial arts training with aerobics to provide a whole-body, high-calorie burning workout that relieves stress. Step-aerobics involves climbing up and down from a platform in a choreographed class that burns the same calories as running with the impact of walking, according to the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Aqua Exercises

Workshops are offered to teach exercise in the water for classes, including Aqua Bell, Aqualates, Aqua Tai Chi, Aqua Kick-boxing, Aqua Resistance-Training and more. Water workouts are a safe, low-impact way to exercise without risk of injury or joint-impact while improving your strength, flexibility and endurance, according to the Arthritis Foundation. With so many different types of water exercise classes to choose from, injuries, pregnancies and other medical conditions may not be reason enough to keep you from a good workout.

Overall Health

Super Curves rounds out its health training by including lectures and workshops on pre- and post-natal care, diet and nutrition, stress management, injury rehabilitation, ergonomics, pediatrics and women's health. By embracing a well-rounded health philosophy, Super Curves provides participants with a chance to improve their quality of life. Include exercise in your well-balanced, healthy lifestyle for the best chance at good health.
